A good start to a series, I’m interested to see where things will go now that the foundation is laid. I like the small foreshadowing throughout. Hadrian did kind of annoy me in the beginning, but seeing his growth was interesting.

Quite a tome. Pretty good story, but as book progressed mc, Hadrian, behaved too immature/inconsistent with the “political machine” that he was described as.

"This books is like what happens when you order Dune on Wish, and what arrives is a WH40k knockoff. Also, can you believe he named his self-righteous, droning first-person POV protagonist Hadrian Marlowe? It's like naming your evil tyrant Sauron Skeletor."

This book I had half read on my kindle for years. It's bad, it's really well written-bad everything else. It predates for a good margin machine-learning filler content, but it feels like it. It's a mishmash of Kingkiller, Dune, Memories of Hadrian and a dozen other IPs, but falls flat and lifeless all of the time. There is not a glimmer of indipendent life in the whole book, it's run of the mill space-planetary opera with no fun and worse adventure and no memorable scene or character. I'm sorry, but I really did not like this book.
