It wasn't amazing, but still entertaining
At some point I was hoping more for Kage than Blake
Blake for the better part of this book was a dick.

First 3 quarters of the book were slow for me. It felt like nothing was happening. It felt like a lot of filler with a very small plot. The end was good. But I dont know if it was enough to redeem this book or make me read the next one. First book was way better.

Unless we are doing a Melissa K Roerich style mind-bend with the MMC I don't know if I can continue book 3 because the MMC is not redeemable at this point to me. I imagine the tradpub will be heavily edited so we'll see what happens.

Disappointed in the writing of this one. I finished it and will be reading the next one when it comes out. Im invested. But I saw a few things coming that were supposed to be big shockers. Like Kage being the wolf. Florence being used as leverage. I was a bit turned off by the way it was all written. It felt like a lot of explaining and not a lot of doing. Like I kept getting told the way things were but I wasn’t seeing it in the story. And idk if there is a plan for kage and Medra. But I felt more tension with them than I did with medra and Blake.
