Well it appears the halls of Bloodwing Academy aren’t only full of bullies, but twists and turns galore as well. Blackmail, hidden secrets, sinister plots, and unlikely betrayals  had me wanting to scream at some characters while simultaneously leaving me glued to the page. Emotions run high in this one, especially at the end, and the lines between right and wrong blur, causing even the best of intentions have the biggest consequences. 

There were a lot of elements to this installment that I never saw coming, and that opened the plot up in a spectacular way. Medra isn’t the only one that is left reeling from the uncovered history and plotting that is discovered, and I really loved the way Blake allowed his perspective to change along side her. While he still makes some big mistakes, his character arc is genuine and had me rooting for him - despite his stupidity at times.

Things end in quite the mess - an even bigger one than before - and I’m equally nervous and excited for the final book of the series. The stakes are higher and there are even more questions than ever before, but I have hope that the events at this end of this book will force our characters to fully unite under one cause and succeed.
