The concept was interesting, I suppose. I didn't really get attached to any characters, in fact disliked many, and was rather irritated by some. It could have been the audio book performance, but I doubt it. I think it would have been great in its own time, but I've heard it compared to books like 1984 and I definitely prefer more engaging characters and plot. It was still interesting, the concept of stability and contentment versus chaos and fulfilment leading to the solution of living shallow lives.

Read this after the Handmaid’s Tale. I enjoy the similar themes.
I generally really enjoy some of the more classic literature. I don’t know if my issue was the book or the person who is reading the book (audio book), but after I got past the first couple of chapters, I lost all interest and had to push just to finish this.
I have a goal of 25 books read this summer holiday, I'm up to...16. Breezing through books at the moment. I was listening to this on audiobook. I spent the entire book trying to guess how Lenina was spelt.
