The way Constanta, Magdalena, and Alexi loved each other had me breathless. The ending was everything I wanted and more.

The writing in this book is exceedingly slow and incredibly decadent. I felt like I was watching one of those Dove chocolate commercials only for blood and vampirism. I spent most of the book just WAITING for that jerk to die (not a spoiler, she tells us right at the beginning that she kills him) and damn was it worth the wait.

beautifully written. well crafted prose, characters, and story. i especially appreciated how the voice of the narrator reads, descriptive and wordy like someone from her time might be without being dry at all. absolutely would recommend, though be sure to heed the content warnings as this book deals with potentially sensative themes.

dreamy prose that carries you across all three parts. it’s a quick read and truly delicious. gibson writes the various relationships constanta has with ease and fluidity and they’re fascinating to read.
