The one part that really excited me was the new information that we learn about Evangeline and her love life. As a part of the community, it was nice to see that represented. However, by the end of her first chapter I couldn't help feeling as if Aveyard put this in as a quick cash grab towards the LGBT community. Honestly I would definitely support a book about Evangeline's experience maybe before Queenstrial and maybe what happens to her after the series is finished, but I'm not sure if I would want Aveyard to be the one writing it. I'll read the last book just because I've invested this much of time in to it but I swear if Aveyard falls into that "Bury your Gays" trope I will be extremely disappointed.

Felt like much didn't happen until more than halfway through the book. Lots of talking, lots of repeated conversations. Not sure how I feel about the other viewpoints added to the story. I guess it let us know what was happening when Mare wasn't around, but not sure it was necessary.

The Kings Cage is the third installment in Aveyard's Red Queen series. Mare is a prisoner to Maven, succumbing to endless torture for months on end. She is locked in a cell, tethered to the Silent Stone that sits upon her wrists and ankles - suffocating her lightning, which is the only thing she can truly trust. She is paraded around the capital, being used as propaganda in the war between the Scarlet Guard and Norta. In the beginning, Mare hopes that the Scarlet Guard would try to get her free, but she realizes that it will be up to her to get out.

This book was a bit different than the others. It was only different because it switched off between Mare, Cameron, and sometimes Evangeline. It was a bit boring here and there but it was definitely a page turner for me. It was a mix of Mare's captivity, Cameron's opinion on the Scarlet guard, Farley's story, and Cal's heart. If you have read the other books you are sure to like this one! This book got me waiting on the edge of my seat for the next one!

This one was actually heartbreaking? Mare is cast aside constantly, I genuinely just want someone to choose HER. IM SO UPSET.

How can I love a book that tortured me so much?!?! My favorite character got killed off in the Glass Sword but he was in this book so much. I waited to read this book because the last book gutted me and I was scared to jump back into this world and this one did the same. I may have ugly cried a little (LOT) throughout this book. I'm already desperate and dreading the next book!
