A great read

I live in Vegas, so whenever I see a book that has Vegas in the plot, I have to read it. And to add an Australian into the mix? Be still my heart! I did like Chance and Aubreys story and I really liked the road trip element and the slow burn of getting them to their HEA was terrific and totally worth it.

I'm about to be cursed by someone I am sure of it. I was so excited to dig in to this because I have heard nothing but amazing reviews. But I felt disappointed. I just didn't like Aubrey. Expecially at the end. I hated how she couldn't forgive him. How she let him suffer. I mean don't get me wrong I know she had been hurt, but his excuse wasn't exactly an excuse. He was trying to do right by her. He always tried to do right by her. I dunno. She ruined it for me.

Cocky Bastard is a very fitting title for Chance's story. The Aussie, past soccer player and tushy model, thinks and acts as if he is all that and more. Interesting circumstances has him riding the passenger seat in Aubrey's vehicle heading towards California. They are on the ultimate adventure full of hilariousness and strange situations. The trip ends in Vegas with a bang and then Aubrey is abandoned. It wasn't funny. It was heart wrenching, depressing, irritating. Skip ahead two years (you have to because the authors do). Chance returns and wants Aubrey back. He had secrets during their travels he kept them from Aubrey and the readers. There was a reason he disappeared. He only has to convince Aubrey to give him a chance. The best part about the second part was watching Chance grovel. The things he does in the name of love are amazing. Read Cocky Bastard and be prepared to laugh, cry, scream, cheer a roll those eyes.

03/17/20 my audiobook addiction continues. great laughs.

Man, Ok so I thought the idea of this book sounded so good!

It started out good but it just felt like the book was moving so fast, one second they are strangers, and the next she's falling in love and agreeing to "marry" him?

I did enjoy the plot twist, I was thinking maybe he was married seeking a diverse or something dramatic that was why he was trying to keep his distance.

What really lost me was he didn't tell her where he was so that she would go live her left but then TWO YEARS of no contact he gets out and day one looks her up and stalks her? like why not write her if he clearly had feelings this whole time. I get it's a book and it was a huge part of the story.

I HATED the cheating. When they kiss, and the whole shower thing? It was insane that she even agreed to the weekend away. If I had known there was cheating I don't know that I would have read the book.
Honestly, it totally felt like Aubrey was stringing him along, and then at the end, she says she always knew? like what the hell.

Ok, so I feel like I've been really harsh on this book. I do love Chance and Pixi. I've read other books by P Ward and I love them, but this one just was not for me.

Not only was the book going around in circles for these last chapters, which had me feeling bored, Chace was becoming a complete ick and the constant mention of Starbucks was like an advertizement to a brand that aged like milk (pun not intended).
It's a shame as it had such a strong start and I like these two authors.

Goat, Jail, Stalking. I didn't expect this to be this complicated but it's pretty cute

So I wasn’t sure what I was going to rate this
I really was rooting for Chance and Aubrey to have their HEA but I was confused about a few things
I’m just glad everything worked out. The goat Pixy was hilarious.

Chances are worth taking, but the right one is worth keeping

It's no secret by my rating that I loved this book. Since before it came out, it had been on my wishlist. (I actually won a copy on a Facebook giveaway.)

I loved the ups, the downs, and the accent. The cover model for this book doesn't hurt either!
Chance and Princess-sorry, Aubrey- meet and get to know one another in a most unusual way. Their story doesn't end with one road trip and unfortunately it isn't bump free either. One week can change your whole life, but it can also make you weak. Aubrey never thought she'd recover from the heartbreak. Chance never thought he'd see her again. One photo (and a nagging little sister) was enough to push him. Chance went for the one thing that makes life whole- Aubrey.

A sweet story that sucks you in for an emotional (and sexually satisfying) ride. P.S. MUST LOVE GOATS!
