"I had to say goodbye to my life with Laura... before I could start my life with you."
I don’t even have words to explain how much this book took me by surprise and how deeply it moved my heart.
Just when I thought the story was unfolding beautifully and heading in a clear direction, one of the craziest plot twists happened, seriously, out of all the possible endings I imagined, what actually happened didn’t even cross my mind.
It’s a love story completely outside the box, but somehow incredibly comforting.
The way their love was built, so unique, yet so profound, touched me in a way that no book had in a long time.

Liked this book much more than Five Feet Apart. Loved the characters and their evolution through the book, the story of coping with grief and loss and the amazing plot twist that i was not expecting at all. Such a great book.

Preface: this cover artist deserves a raise.

Now, onto the real review.

Despite the gorgeous cover, my expectations for All This Time weren't high. I wasn't that big a fan of Five Feet Apart and the premise to this novel seemed overdone. This was set out to be a solid three star read before the twist.

I was expecting some sort of twist. They always happen in books like these. If the boy and girl get together early on, then something's going to happen for them to fall apart before the big, happy ending. It's how it always works. What I did not see coming, however, was the twist this book delivered. It shocked me, and suddenly I was thrown into a world that was even better than the one before.

The writing was exceptional, the characters fully fleshed and gorgeous, the plot smart and heart-wrenching. The one thing that keeps this book from being five stars (besides the fact that, despite all the positives, it just wasn't really for me) is that the plot's execution felt a little messy toward the end. I think it was done as well as maybe it could have been, considering the tricky aspect of what Daughtry and Lippencott were trying to write. Regardless, I was a little bit confused at certain parts- although that confusion was certainly not a large detriment to the overall experience.

Overall, this is a gorgeous, shining story about grief done in a way I, at the very least, had never seen before. It touches the heart and calms the mind with its magical prose and heartwarming message. I truly believe that the inside, for once, actually matches the exterior of this book.

Recommended to anyone who likes tragic love stories or enjoyed Five Feet Apart.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

liked the plot twist but i wasn’t a big fan of the writing. The end scenes were messy and confusing but all in all I’d say: good story, great plot, kinda messy execution.
