I finished this book and the first words out of my mouth where "You can't end it like that, not like that." And dead ass teary eyed like I am not a crying reader this happens once every 20-30 books, but how dare Adam Silvara end this book like that. I even knew it was going to happen. The damn book title says so, and yet I was in denial.

Every single person in this book is connected, and it shows how acts of kindness affect others and how the best way to be kind is to have no expectations for returns.

The other message is to live event day like there is no tomorrow and find joy in small things.

I think this book was written to primarily tell about the importance of life and love instead of telling a story. This book wasn't super plot heavy or anything, but it was a book you could read and reflect.

I never felt like I formed an attachment to this book- the plot or the characters. I really tried to give this book a chance because of the hype surrounding it, and the fact that I normally love a mysterious YA with LGBTQ rep. To me, the characters don’t really have chemistry. I just lost interest and decided it wasn’t worth my time.

They Both Die at the End is a masterclass in world building and detail work, and the format really, really works. definitely not a lighthearted book by any means (shocking, i know, for a book with this title), but there’s a lot of joy and life packed into these pages.
