The audio book is incredible because Michelle narrates it herself. Such an inspiring woman! The book felt a little slow, and dragged a bit for me in the beginning, but it eventually picked up and at the end I wished there was more.

I may not agree with all of the politics, but Michelle Obama is a class act. She is far more educated and down to earth than I imagined. While listening to this audiobook (recommend!) I saw HER, and remembered experiencing this election time as a young woman myself. It was cool to hear the behind the scenes, the humanity of this family in the spotlight. I am a huge fan of her as a person. She is a badass woman, with a great heart. Definitely happy I read this one!

I loved this book. I laughed, I winced, I got angry and most of all, I missed these people.
I loved the amount of detail about her early life, her discussion about what motivated her, what she learned.
I would say the only downside, or moment I was disappointed was that the last section - about their time in the White House - felt smaller, less detailed and more philosophical. I am sure that most of these was classified or just not stuff she wanted to share considering who is in office and how scrutinized they were/are. I would of loved the level of detail we got at the beginning of the book to be at the end of the book, because of course I was SO curious.
Over all, great read. I really enjoyed it.

Beautiful, inspiring and uplifting. Made me think a lot about my own family, ambitious, and all the circumtances that pushed me forward, and that I maybe, haven’t been grateful enough for. I love the spirit of Michelle - her awareness of what it means to be female, and willingness to ignore the society’s stereotypes and expectations, and choose her own way. To be a mother, because she wants it, to work, because she wants it, and to choose her own destiny.

P.S. I liked it much more than Barack’s book
