Agatha Christie’s The murder of Mr. Ackroyd is another example of her ingenious writing in keep the reader guessing until the end of the book. The reader’s suspect list will be quite long, but the reason Agatha is one of the top writers of the genre is, because of her way of hiding the facts in plain sight. Furthermore, I enjoyed learning new British English words and the sarcastic humor of the main protagonist, Hercule Poirot. However, there is a bit of blasphemy in the book, which is quite uncalled for and unnecessary. Overall, an excellent light-read for anyone who enjoys a good murder mystery with an unexpected twist at the end…happy reading and remember to use your little grey cells!

I feel like an idiot, because of the ending. She exonerated everyone, and I still didn't suspect Dr. Sheppard. Best murder mystery I've read in forever.
