Let me start by saying that romance is not my favourite genre; there are some romance books that I have enjoyed though. This one was not really my kind of book, just really sappy for my taste, especially the last part.

Challenging

What a confronting, yet sensitive book. It covers so many issues. It teaches, challenges, suggests, and plays out the options we have when trying to heal from past hurts. What struck me the most was "that's not who you are... that's what you do". How many of us need to realise that? A truly great read that also teaches, with a satisfying ending. Recommend it.

What a swoony novel! This the first full length book I've read by Courtney Walsh and I wasn't disappointed! I've been wanting to read more but this author for so long and I'm very glad I made the time for it. Just Look Up took me through such a wide range of emotions from anger and frustration to joy and relief. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series!

Another great book from Walsh! Lane is close to the promotion at work that she has been fighting for when she is called back home because of a family emergency. Ryan still lives in their hometown, much to his own surprise, and loved Lane many years ago. Now sparks fly as these two reunite. But, can love blossom for two people living in different worlds?

Walsh has such a way with words and this novel tugs at the heartstrings. I found myself turning page after page, cheering for Ryan and Lane despite setback after setback. I have loved all of Walsh's books, but this may be my new favorite.

What a sweet, wonderful book. I was hooked right away by the way Walsh made Lane so relatable. I, too, have escaped my hometown but don’t avoid going back. She wrote the Kelley family like it was my own. This book was easy to connect and get into, and I couldn’t put it down!

Wow! This book really surprised me! I actually had NO idea what the book was about, but bought it because... Courtney Walsh!

The first part of the story my heart just kept sinking for Lane. The people around her just did NOT understand her. I mean, I've known her for a hot minute and can see that SOMEONE needs to give her some loyalty. I could understand why she had zero desire to go "home". She's the epitome of being bullied when she was young, but acting like she's overcome it as an adult. I caught myself constantly wanting to defend her and protect her.

Of course, there are all of the secondary characters who we love or hate. The author made it easy for the most part to separate them all into categories. Chloe the assistant - love her. The people who call her by her old nickname - hate 'em. Her family I wanted to give a good talking to!

And then there's Ryan. *swoon" Goodness he was a well written character! If you're looking for a book boyfriend look no further! His colored past because of his parents always seems to be dogging him. His character is wonderful, but he's a fantastic balance of tenderness, steadfastness, and reliable, but you see his humanness.

As the story progresses there's a subtle shift, maybe halfway through, where I was no longer in defense of her as much as I was cheering for her.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story!

could NOT finish THIS book. MAIN female character was disappointing and a pushover, she couldn't stand up for herself.

I CANT CONNECT WITH CHARACTERS LIKE THAT AT ALL.
