This is a good, solid, story about space and personal issues. I can see the gov't doing something like this, and, as usual, covering it up.

Dr Emma Watson is training for a mission of a lifetime. She will be travelling to the International Space Station (ISS) to study living organisms in space. For a research scientist with an interest in space, this is a mission of a lifetime.
A series of events - some deliberate, and some accidental – result in an overwhelming and rapidly fatal infection spreading amongst the crew members of the ISS. The remaining crew appears doomed to die in space as the infection threatens life on earth. There seems to be no cure available, and the prospects of developing and applying any cure in the timeframe seems impossible.
This rapidly developing thriller contains a number of plausible events with some very human reactions and interactions.
‘There’s no crime to punish here. There are people who simply made mistakes.’
It is possible to read this novel on a couple of different levels. There are some ethical issues to consider and some relationship aspects to untangle. For myself, I chose to become caught up in the pace of journey: nothing else mattered.

Three and a half stars but I'm rounding up this time. (Edit: now that I've read though my review, I've realized it would be an injustice to every other 4 star read of mine to not drop this one to three :D)

A good premise and setting, great pacing and the tension held through out. I didn't care about the marriage troubles of the main character (or about any other aspect of the relationship between her and her husband) but otherwise the plot was good enough. The ending was really predictable from the get go. There are some questionable things here too, that I'm going to attribute to the late nineties.

Similar themes as Andromeda Strain and Cold Storage but this one had me maybe a little bit more invested, although the eventual heroics that resolved the situation were a little over the top.

There’s something about books set in space that manages to bring out my latent agoraphobia and claustrophobia at the same time.

This book does not disappoint.

I’m a huge fan of Tess Gerritsen’s, and this is undoubtedly one of her best stand alone books. I remember reading somewhere that Tess Gerritsen actually went to a NASA center to research their procedures and the logistics surrounding how the space station works. This dedication shows in her brilliant execution of the plot and her depiction of the science in the story. This is an incredibly compelling, moderately terrifying, and genuinely satisfying read.

This one was okay. Out of the ones I've read by Gerritsen, this is not my favorite. I enjoy her medical suspense that's a little more realistic (aliens? no thank you). I will admit that parts of the book had me, and I was reading fast to try and figure out what was going to happen next, but for the most part it as confusing. She has three storylines going, and I kept wondering when she was going to bring them all together.
