This book was a little hard for me to get into, at first, because it had been so long since I read the last one. However, once the plot starts picking up, it was such a suspenseful book that I could not put it down. There were a few moments towards the end where all I could go was "OMG!!". I really, really loved this book. The plot was fresh for a fifth book in a series, some twists and turns, and had tons of action. The descriptions of the imagery and surroundings were great; I felt emotions along with the characters, and also the anticipation for some parts had me biting my nails. Cassandra Clare does not disappoint with this book.

Two stars for continued angsty stupidity (Among many others; Alec!), odd choices and sudden character evolvements that came out of the blue (Alec again. And I had such hopes for you, young man!) and one extra star for a spectacular stabbing that should have occurred several books ago.
