Mi corazón está roto y aun así he amado este libro muchísimo. ¿Cómo has podido hacerme esto Cassandra?

Book 73 of 2025 finished 28/6/25 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book 5 of the Mortal Instruments series

The demon Lilith’s magic has bound Jace to Clary’s evil brother. You can’t harm one without hurting the other. The Shadowhunters and their allies turn to the far, demons, and the Iron Sisters to try and save Jace. Meanwhile Clary is risking everything to stay with him, but she is beginning to wonder whether there is any good left in Jace to be saved.

My thoughts: Another SLOW book followed by an action packed finale. This whole series has given me Scooby Doo vibes and I definitely felt that in this one when the gang are trying to come up with a plan to save Jace.

I have to say that I actually really like Sebastian (not as a person). He’s such a good villain! I couldn’t work out whether he was going to have changed following the ending of book 4 and there were moments I wondered if he was being genuine with Clary in their moments alone. He’s a really good bad guy and I’m looking forward to reading the final book of the series.

Is this my favorite book from The Mortal Instruments ? Idk my reread of City of Heavenly Fire will determine it

I absolutely loved this book.
I think the end and the book's story in general was amazing.
So far it's definitely my favorite book of the series (Yes I think is better than city of glass)

Rating: 4.6
I fell in love with this book and this whole entire series and i can’t wait to finish it!!
adventurous slow-paced

Each book (since City of Glass) it's getting worse, they're more and more boring.
I think the TMI saga should have been a trilogy.

Enjoyed this one more than the previous installment, though can’t say why. Looking forward to finishing out the last of the series.

Not the best from the series. Clary became even MORE frustrating to read from, her decisions were baffling at points.
Points for Simon's character progression, for sure the best part of the book.
The writting is very repetitive at times, same things pointed out all the time and even quotes from the page before plastered.
Whilst reading, the Clary sections were for sure the worst. They felt so detached from the plot at times it was jarring.
Overall felt like a skipable book except for maybe 4/5 chapters.
