Too much of the volume is taken up with a big fight with the time traveling brotherhood, but the last issue is pretty good. Young Jean and Emma bond, and Laura and Young Warren start dating.

Wow. That was. Amazing. Weird. Confused. And yet it basically worked. The writers and artists managed to capture the confusing pretty darn well. Mostly with different styles of writing and art. Throughout it's not clear what actually happened. Or how many different time-streams we saw. But all in all good and believable. Special highlight is the Kitty and Peter's relationship in two pages of bad art cartoon. Emma forcing Jean to fight her by showing images that Jean would want to block. Kitty talking to Peter Quill by hologram. X-23 as always awesome from beginning to end. 4.5 of 5.

2021 Summer (July);
Reread of Baby!Jean Arc

Most of these were read in a blur of summer bliss in a hammock in a backyard garden as I finally followed up on my original reads of the baby!Jean storyline that I'd gotten half into before falling out of again. I really do continue to love this storyline mostly for her.

++the opening consequences with beast
-not a fan of the weird differentiation in art and strange flow midday through the first issue
-over the future brotherhood peeps
?? X-23&Angel? Huh
-future baddies plan seems kinda dumb tying it all to one Mutant and acting like it hasn't been tried before...when it has (Messiah complex storyline was kinda alllllll about that)
++past Bobby still rocks
++Emma and Jean moments
++Old Scott and Jean moment

I read this and [b:All-New X-Men, Vol. 5: One Down|19539377|All-New X-Men, Vol. 5 One Down|Brian Michael Bendis|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1411227655s/19539377.jpg|27665932] in the same day and now they blur together. They were both fine but confusing, due to time travel and the fact that I didn't read the Age of the Atom event (I THINK?) I don't remember which volume had the cute alternate realities? Maybe 5? anyway that was my favorite part.

Hm. Didn't like the first chapter/issue in this collection. The rest was interesting, and a good second look at the future "evil" X-Men.
My interest remains, but it's muted...
