I am so glad I listened to this as an audiobook, so I could hear Kasher read his work aloud. Some of the content felt a little raunchy and juvenile, but it also felt very authentic. I’m not sure I would have enjoyed it as much if I had read it myself. Initially, I didn’t think I really connected with the story, and when I finished reading, I remember feeling dissatisfied. But, as time has passed, I’ve found myself recommending it to my friends at every chance I had. Kasher’s story was raw, yet humorous. It felt like a stark contrast from my basic, suburban childhood, yet I was still able to relate to the angst and Jewish-ness. I enjoyed the narrative and seeing Kasher mature through his experience.

I wish he'd have discussed his recovery process. It went from being an addict straight to six months of sobriety, no discussion of the struggles to get there. I loved this book but that's my only issue
