It was very cute and I loves the colouring. At the end I had hoped for more of a cliffhanger (which is weird), especially as there are questions left unanswered. Blanche is also really cute and I like the way Abigail wants to make her happy. Abigail‘s smile is also weirdly funny. The Snow White crossovers are also cool. The paneling is a bit difficult at times, but I do think I‘ll continue with this series.

What happens when you get reincarnated.. in the evil stepmother/villainess of the story?

I cannot resist an isekai featuring people coming back in the villainesses lives. So far most of them that I read have the characters doing a complete 180, meaning that they try to change the villainess for the better and make sure not to die (because that is the trouble with villainesses, they tend to get murdered/die/get abandoned). So when I saw this one? I had to try it!

In this one we meet a girl who has overworked herself to the point of dying. And reincarnating in a new world. The one of Snow White. Yup. She is the wicked stepmother. Or well, I should say was, because Abigail (the wicked stepmother) has a new soul and that one is desperate to make things right, especially seeing how cute her stepdaughter is. Yes, she may not be a children’s clothes designer in this world but that definitely is leaking through. Haha. I just adored Abigail/Lily and see her try to set things right. Not just with her stepdaughter, but also with the servants, the people who work at her place. The only one she doesn’t give a hoot about is her husband (I cannot blame her, but I guess I cannot blame him either). I just love seeing Abigail take step by step to making life better, to make sure that people see that Abigail isn’t the worst. Or I should say, isn’t the worst now. Because Lily can see Abigail’s memories and OH BOY those are fucked up. Abigail before Lily took wicked stepmother to the next level.

And yes, I could imagine that people were hesitant about accepting the new Abigail. I mean, would you trust someone who was a bitch, died, then came back and did a 180? I don’t think so! But I love that as the story continued we saw she charmed people left and right and that slowly she gained more and more trust with those around her. I loved how sweet Abigail is with the servants and tries to make them happy.

I had quite a laugh at how dedicated she was with Blanche. She tried her utter best to make sure her step-daughter now felt more safe and trusted with her around. Made sure to shower her with love, happiness, and a lot of presents. But while I did LOVE how she had a turn-around and I did love seeing the two of them get closer, at times it got a bit creepy with her affection for Blanche. I mean, at times it was just a bit much. She is drooling. She is asking the mirror constantly about her. She is sparkly. She spies upon Blanche constantly. It just got a bit icky. And I do hope that this is dialled down a bit in the next volumes with Blanche seeing that Abigail isn’t the worst and thus her toning down her whole fangirl mode.

Other things I loved is how Abigail handled the merchants (RIP that one guy) and also the whole mirror part (that mirror guy is quite a character, haha).

The husband can just FUCK off by the way. I get that he is not happy he was forced into this marriage and that his second wife turned out to be a snake (at least at first), but he did some things in this one that made my blood boil. I am curious to learn more about him despite that though, because we get some glimpses that have me wondering what he went through in his first marriage. And while I am not shipping him with Abigail now, I am curious to see if maybe things will change in later volumes. If he will have a change of heart and maybe became someone I can root for. We do see some glimpses of his POV and I am happy the author did that as it gave some insight in him.

Oh, and while I did like the later parts with Abigail seeing what was happening in regards to food and her step-daughter, I wouldn’t recommend stuffing the kid full with sweets and cookies. You need to find the balance. Because now Blanche is going from being restricted to completely let go in regards to food. And yes, she could use some sustenance given she is growing, but giving her unlimited access to unhealthy stuff is not the way.

All in all though, I do hope to be able to read this one further. Yes, there are things that could be better, but so far I am enjoying it. Abigail is quite the character and I cannot wait to see her grow further and get a better life. She deserves it.
