Wow. This book has such beautiful writing and is able to tell a really important and heartwrenching story about immigration, racism, cuban history, addiction and multiple generational-trauma. And in only about 200 words.

A novel about several generations of cuban and cuban American women. The last woman, Jeanette is a drug addict and in the end overdoses. At one point in her life she takes care of her neighbors child who was deported by ice. She does turn in the girl though and she is also deported. At the end of the book the girl finds her way back and finds that Jeannette is dead. Her mother Carmen takes care of her.
