Still not a fan of the main female character but DAMN to the rest of the characters and the plot

Was so here for the alexandros x xavier tension finally breaking!!

The rest of this kind of left me underwhelmed. The deaths didn’t really have much impact for me. Maybe that’s because we didn’t really see these friendships get to shine it was just “oh this is my best friend now!” “This is what friendship should be!” So when that was taken away with a quick death I found I didn’t really care.

Happy Lucien made it out. He might be my fave character 🥲

Trilogy Finale

This one took me a bit to get into. It was coming off of a major cliffhanger in book 2 and I'm not sure if it was how long it took to resolve that cliffhanger or what, but the first 25-30% of the book felt incredibly slow to me. I actually had to pause listening and move onto something else for a couple of weeks before coming back to finish listening.

While the overarching story was compelling and kept my interest, some of the other pieces that I loved about the first book felt lacking.
This felt more like the story of Ophelia and Alexandros vs Ophelia and her harem. And at the same time, Alexandros with Malachi (I think, I can't even remember which one) admitting their love felt prominent for a minute but then sidelined. And the spicy scenes were not as intense, detailed as in previous books, which left me feeling disappointed.

There was just a LOT going on in the back half of the book and I was also disappointed that Ophelia ended up having to sacrifice most of her powers. Let a girl save the world AND still be the most powerful being!

The narrators all gave great performances. June knocked it out of the park as Ophelia.

Thank you, Blue Nose Audio, for the ALC.

It definitely was the weakest of the 3 installments.
Why was Ophelia so whiny? And I didn’t like the ending.
Her giving up her powers felt like a lot of character growth was revoked. Yes, she didn’t want her powers in the first place but she grew into them, why stripping them away?

I liked the relationship growth between the four men (why does Ophelia call them „boys“ though? They’re decade old immortals! Definitely not boys!)
I wish Lucian would have played a bigger role. I really liked him.

🎧 All these amazing narrators really make the story come to life. Compared to just reading words on a page and a movie playing in my head, there was still a movie but it was brought more to life with the addition of these narrators. I think Joe Arden was voicing 4 different characters and he really put his foot into bringing each character to life. This was a perfect wrap up to this trilogy and was kind of unexpected from Sadie. I would be interested to read more fantasy written by her if it ever happens in the future. There are twists and turns, emotions are running high, there are action packed scenes, and you can't forget the spice! All that made an amazing book and I still appreciate that Ophelia is a softer FMC than most.

Bound in Blood is the third book in the Broken Bloodlines series written by Sadie Kincaid.

What to expect:

*Vampires

*Ancient prophecy

*Dragons

Overall I enjoyed this series, some of the scenes were a little over dramatic but I have always enjoyed this author’s work.

My only complaint was that the FMC was forced to sacrifice her powers to save the world, I think that was needless but I’m not a writer and I’m sure the author had her reasons for ending it the way she did.
