I’m over here trying to hate the “fake relationship” trope because it’s annoying and I hate lying, but then Emily Henry has to ruin my high horse and make me love and relate to her stupid characters 😂😂😂

Her stories are so relatable and amusing. I find myself putting down so many quotes from her books into my reading journal.

“The same universe that dispassionately takes things away can bring you things you weren’t imaginative enough to dream up.” ❤️

Fake relationships are one of my favorite tropes.  There was a lot of foreshadowing about the Petra/Miles situation, but it worked out better than I expected. Petra and Peter are really toxic people.  It's like they get off on making people unhappy when they're unhappy.  Miles and Daphne had a lot of family trauma.

Sadie can go eat a bag of Richards.   What kind of friend texts someone that they're not going to pick sides?   You basically already picked sides then. You picked your boyfriend and his cheater friend's side.  She made zero effort to make sure her "best friend" was OK.

Not surprisingly, Emily Henry made me fall in love with another of her books. I truly loved Funny Story, I deeply relate to Daphne and except the fiancé-fiasco we basically share the same life story. Henry truly moved my heart with this one, and even helped me heal pieces of my upbringing with this story. Most importantly, it has reminded me to not run away when life gets messy and to be willing to experience the surprises life might throw at you

Gosh! Emily Henry hits again! This is only my second Emily Henry book, and I am starting to add her to my "must read all of this author's book" list. The characters have dimensions and things are not completely perfect in the end, just like reality, but enough pinches of a happy ending for the characters to feel satisfied with the emotional roller coaster ride Henry took us on. I had tears when I thought
Miles was spending the entire time he was missing helping Petra move. The pulls on my heart strings 😭
