Daphne could be such a frustrating main character at times. I am not sure what to take from that.
I would have loved to read more of her and Miles’ relationship developing after she decides to stay (because we do see her make healthy choices, for herself) and learn how she grows. But then, I do believe that she learns and grows in the book already.

But it is a lovely story. And I believe the portrayal of the ways in which we can develop deeply ingrained patterns of thinking, as well as how those come out. It’s just frustrating to read - and it’s a shame the drama lasts somewhat longer than the rebuilding.

There is a reason I save new Emily Henry's for my birthday. It feels like a gift to go on these journeys with her characters.
I devoured this. I loved Miles and Daphne both seperately and together.
I'm going through a phase of personal growth and the way these characters reflect on their pasts and decide to do better for themselves is inspiring.

This is so Nick and Jess (from New Girl) coded except she's more reserved and he's more of a all round charmer.

This is Emily Henry at her best. With witty dialogue and loveable characters, she puts a charming, chaotic spin on the fake dating trope and tells a wonderful story of self-reflection and finding home. As always her characters feel real, the emotions are raw, and the descriptions are vivid enough to make you feel like you're really there, alongside Daphne.

This was fantastic. Complex, well developed relationship. Friendships with a full arc!! One of the best 3rd arc conflicts in a while.
So well done.
I think this is Emily's best yet.
