succinct, yes, but the creative use of colour, and the solace found in writing, made this a healing read.

Originally published in French, Waves is an autobiographical graphic novel that tells of the author's struggles with infertility and pregnancy loss and how she and her partner lean on each other.

An absolutely touching story that explores the hard reality of grieving the loss of a child. Beautiful illustrations and expert use of colour throughout created some stunning and poignant moments that hit me really hard. Not having experienced chilld loss or infertility, I did find parts hard to relate to, but overall such an important and hopeful story.
