I sobbed for almost the whole of this graphic novel. It was such an emotional and brutal journey of a lesbian couple finally convincing a child after years of waiting. But then they end up having a miscarriage. Waves was a truly heart breaking and uplifting story full of grief & how we build back after the impossible happens.

A heartbreaking story of a couple finding hope, joy, and strength after emerging from the grief of a lost child, illustrated with poetic frames set against the metaphor of a mother's dream drowning in the depths of the ocean of sadness. But in the end, they find a string of hope to tether them together.
