I wanted to love this book but I'm finding that Madeline is changing too much for me to really love this as much as I used to.

After a long week I need a book that I could enjoy and read in a second and I knew Henry would deliver and so she did.

Vampires running amok in the city! Nahaniel guarding her back! Who is Puck! What is stirring in the area? The agency being a bunch of asses. Yes lots going on and Maddy is kick-ass as always, taking names and getting shot. She has a darkness growing inside her too and trying to deal with it all, while being preggers.

I also wonder if she will find a new love interest and who it will be.

Also Lucifer is scheming and the schemes are totally 0_0

A fast kick-ass book that left me wanting more

I think this has been my favourite book so far from this series. So much emotion

I think I have just lost interest in this series. I was so so bored. And I honestly skimmed a lot of the last half. Maddie is basically all powerful. And that's totally great but it just doesn't make for an interesting book. No matter what happens, she finds some new power to get herself out of it. I also really hate the "romance" part of this book. I would not actually call it romance.. more like lust.. that somehow make them more powerful. I would rather it just be a straight up action book.

I don't know guys. I may eventually read the next book in the series but it is not on the top of my TBR.

BLACK CITY is the darkest of all the books so far in the Black Wings Series. Maddy has lost her husband, she’s pregnant, and people are trying to kill her at every turn. With the vampires on the loose in her city people are dying left and right and Maddy jumps right in hoping to save people. A lot happens in BLACK CITY, it's packed full of action, emotion and sticky situations.

Maddy is a bit of a mess. She has taken to putting herself in extremely dangerous situations against other people’s advice. She seems to be turning romantically to someone I really don't want her to be with, but surprisingly is the only one sticking by her side. The emotion in book 5 left me a tad bit depressed to tell you the truth but I could not put the book down. By the end of BLACK CITY all of Maddie's friends have left her. I never thought that would happen and it was a bit of a shock to see them all turn their backs on her. I have no clue how Christina will bring them all back together. If you are a fan of the series you can’t NOT read BLACK CITY. I honestly can't think of anything else to say as I'm a bit shell shocked. Wow yeah that is all go read it.

This is book five in this series.

I am still enjoying this story, however I do not like, nor agree with the romantic turn of events.
SpoilerI don't see that Nathaniel has changed that much from who he was at the beginning of this series, and the Maddy that Henry has created would not fall for that kind of man. Like ever! I was so hoping that she would figure out a way to bring Gabriel back. I mean after all, she brought Evangeline back, right?

I found this disappointing for a couple of reasons. The first being the way all Maddy's friends basically desert her. I was epsecially PO about Beezle. He supposedly loves Maddy and is her family yet he does nothing but carp and criticise and then abandon her. I agree that Maddy is having flashes of 'dark side' behaviour but given all that has happened to her (none of which was her fault) and what she has had to do to survive it is understandable. I also dislike the developments in her relationship with Nathan. It is much to soon after Gabriel and he was a mega jerk who tried to rape her at one point. yes he is changing and has been the only one to stand by her but I still found it really off-putting and not at all romantic or sexy. While mildly curious to see where things go I am not sure I care enough to read the next instalment. May have to check out the reviews to see if it is worthwhile.
