Okay, so technically 4.5 stars, but only because the start was slow and some parts were predictable but what I liked was that the author didn't drag anything on.

It's definitely a mystery as to what's happening and some things are still left in the air, but I'm happy with how it ends and I'm totally looking forward to the next book.

The characters were awesome and the world is so interesting! I think if you stick with the slowish beginning, you will be rewarded in the end.

This was such a creative delightful story! The magic is very interesting and unique, definitely haven’t read anything like it before. And the characters are all amazing, you get extremely vested with them. Cannot wait to read next two and have some of the open mysteries unraveled.

Interesting world, but wasn't a huge fan of any of the characters. Not a huge fan of the writing style. Likely won't finish the series, but may come back to it later.
