Beautiful metaphors and imagery.

“there you are” you said as I came out, like I hadn’t been there before.

I wanted to love this; so many great reviews.
First half was boring. Second half was so unbelievable that it just seemed ludicrous. I don’t even know why I forced myself to finish it.

I feel like this is a solid 4 star book. It kept me interested but there wasn't anything superbly amazing about it. It feels like a standard WW2 book, but with some theater aspects added to it. I wish the theater part was longer, but the pre-WW2 section was really only about 20% of the book. I liked that part the best!

The characters were super interesting though and I appreciated the differing POV's throughout. It never felt stagnant at any point.

I read the first half and then switched to audio when it got a little more war-y. I've read so many WW2 books, they all end up feeling the same so I feel like switching to audio gave it a little more to help me get through it.

I looooooved the writing style though. It was beautifully written and I liked that there were "lists" and letters and other things in between the dialogue that helped move the story forward. I will definitely read more from this author!

So far, Read With Jenna books have not disappointed me!
