I absolutely adored this! The graphic novel so good I couldn't put it down! I mean a story about a queer girl being raised by a single mom who finds out she is a werewolf is so far up my alley. I loved everything about this! The story was amazing and fun and full of so much heart! The extended family theme in this book just really made me smile. Then the art style was amazing as well. The colors and crispness of the art was great. This is one I can not wait to get so I can gush about it and show it off to everyone!

An absolute stunner of a graphic novel, packing in so much with an amazing art style and use of color! Highly recommend for the middle grader in your life, or yourself!

wonderful werewolf graphic novel!

I adored this! Such a wonderful graphic novel about a teen coming into her own even as she deals with the trauma of her present and generations past. Good thing she’s learning how to be a werewolf too

A cute little paranormal middle grade graphic novel about a young girl who discovers that she's a werewolf, her struggles with controlling it, her relationship with her mother and the family of werewolves she meets, and a budding friendship/romance with a girl her age. I liked the art style a lot; I usually prefer more vivid colours, but the muted scheme worked with the theme here. There's something really physical and satisfying about the style and the facial expressions. I loved all the hair styles, and this is simple, but I really liked seeing the head ties and hair bonnets when people went to sleep, haha. The plot itself was fine, mostly standard paranormal fare, but I do think it'd be entertaining for its intended audience. The little romance was very adorable, and it had all the expected themes and messages.

Listened to a lot of this alongside the audio, which was interesting, if not ideal. I wanted to try it since it was available. The pages turned automatically and if there was a page with mostly art and only a little dialogue, the pages would turn before I got the chance to really look at the art, which wasn't always ideal. So I ended up pausing the narration in a few parts to just read it myself. Cute stuff; I'll recommend it to my nieces.

It’s not giving anything away to say that the main character, Artemis, learns that she is and that she comes from a long line of vampires. I love the community she finds. But she also finds something scary. I don’t find much graphic fantasy with Black characters so this is a standout.

I had no idea about this book, but then I saw it in Libby as the Big Library Read, and decided to join in. And I'm glad I did, because this graphic novel was quite good. I don't have much to say about it, but I enjoyed the book. I especially appreciated the cute queer romance. I haven't read much about werewolves, in fact, this might be the first time, but this book was a great start.
