i really enjoyed this book but it felt sooooo long. i think a good chunk of fluff could have been cut and it would’ve been a lot more impactful. overall, really liked the writing style

I enjoyed the mystery and how the characters slowly came to realize they could be more than rivals. I love when protagonists actually spend a lot of time together on the page before becoming a couple. I was rooting for them all along. And they got to live in their own little world for a while, which was lovely. Wes is dreamy and perceptive and kind. Nadine assertive and fiery.
Interesting family dynamics as always from Lily Chu. Here, distance and boundaries were needed.
The story has cats! A plus in my book.
My only quibble is that the story wraps up a little quickly. I could've spent more time with Wes and his new professional endeavors before wrapping up. I could've spent more time with the couple before the epilogue.
