I wasn’t too sure about this book at the beginning but things started picking up around the halfway point and I ended up really enjoying it! It’s not Lisa Jewell’s usual style but there were still some twists and turns along the way.

I am not familiar with the marvel universe - I've read Lisa Jewell other books but this wasn't my favorite.
It was a little slow at the beginning and it was hard for me to get into it. Jessica was looking into why the twins had returned. Jessica takes on a case as soon as she's on England soil. Jessica's investigation runs into something evil lurking within the town.
Overall this was an easy read and I would need to dive into the marvel universe to better understand what had happened in this book.

Their once-imperfect skin now glows flawlessly, and their personalities have altered. The question lingers: What happened to Lark and Fox during those fateful months abroad?

The novel invites readers to reflect on the consequences of chasing an unattainable ideal.
Jewell’s writing style kept me engaged. The pacing is deliberate, allowing me to savour each revelation.
Whether you’re a die-hard Marvel fan or a newcomer, the novel’s imaginative blend of crime fiction and superhero intrigue captivates.

Well damn Lisa Jewell, that was something different. To be fair, I know almost nothing about the Avengers or Marvel family. Maybe I was missing something?
