I have so many questions about Aidan and the reasoning behind why he does what he does. I listened to the audiobook, so I'm not sure if I just missed it, but I felt there was no motive given as to why he was a serial killer or why he kept Rachel as long as he did.

I partly wish there had been a few chapters that involved Aidan's point of view and maybe gave his reasons, or, honestly, that the ending wasn't as abrupt and that we were given more information. I especially would have loved a small reunion of Rachel coming back to her family after so long, considering most of the story is told from her point of view.

I enjoyed this book. It takes the classic abduction book and flips it on its head with different perspectives. There were quite a few lines about trauma and family relationships in this book that I had to highlight because they spoke to me so vividly.

I loved that this book didn’t have a huge twist at the end or anything - those seem to be a bit overplayed. The ending wrapped up nicely and the entire time I couldn’t put it down. I did get a bit confused or lost in parts, but overall it was a very entertaining read!

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in return for an honest review!
