Absolutely thrilling ahhhh, I finished the anime and looked at volume 1 and 2 but didn't read them full (except for a few chapters from vol 2 which wasn't animated and ofc all the xie lian san lang scenes to see if anything had been cut out , (no) ) and this book contained a lot of xie lians past! The first half is mostly his past, just after he's ascended. It is a bit slow in that regard but answers a lot of questions I had from watching the anime.

the parts that were good were SOOOO good. the parts that were bad were SOOOOOO bad. i will probably elaborate on this later, but i hate the land of tenders scene with the CHILD INVOLVED!! yick! i love the festival and the three tumors and the banter and the fall of xianle and the lead up to black water arc and beefleaf and the way that fxmq and xl are acting. very fun. but also the child implication in the horny scene brings this down a star. don't do that.

1. We do not deserve Xie Lian, he is just THE best person/ god ever.
2. Hua Cheng has been completely devoted to Xie Lian.

C’est vraiment un amour/haine avec cette série.
J’ai vraiment pas accroché au premier, j’ai adoré le deuxième (pas au point du coup de cœur) et j’ai pas accroché à la 1ere partie du 3ème mais j’ai adoré la seconde partie.
Quoiqu’il en soit, j’aime vraiment beaucoup trop les personnages et l’histoire en général - qui révèle beaucoup beaucoup BEAUCOUP de layers. Au point presque de se demander si les 8 tomes sont suffisants.
Il est possible que cette série soit un coup de cœur au total même si les tomes pris individuellement me laissent certaines fois sur ma faim. Malgré tout il y a des moments très très fort où je trépigne dans le métro en lisant certains passages.
