Super cute book, though simple. Some hidden gems within the pages. Worth the quick read for book lovers!

I'm unsure of what I was expecting while getting this book, but it was a disappointment. It's full of cute art and funny puns, but I'm so glad it only took an hour to read it. Didn't hate it, but wouldn't recommend to anyone and can't imagine how it got to "Goodreads Choice Awards". It might be a good gift for a kid, but it's nowhere close to deserving to be a nominee.

I mean, it’s short and cute but there’s a bit of “boomer humor” that stops it from being truly great.
funny lighthearted fast-paced

Some of the comics are really funny, some of them aren’t. However, this book did serve as a reminder that I should start journaling! (Hopefully, I will.)

I needed a nice and easy book after my tumultuous May. This really hit the spot and it's nice to see someone understand a bookish introvert. I loved all the clever wordplay and coziness of these comics. I don't enjoy writing and couldn't relate to the struggles of writer's block, but altogether an enjoyable treat. I'm glad I read this and hope to find more cozy reads about bookish babies such as myself.

Pretty meh for me. I do find it interesting that the author is an orthodontist?

Funky little collection of cartoons in the vein of "why we read!!!" and its thrilling sequel, "why we write!!!" Some of the strips were cute, a few of them grated on me, and almost all reflected the author's particular experience of the literary canon (read: Western, white, and predominantly male). Probably would not read again

This was such a neat little book for bibliophiles and book hoarders in mind. It had an endearing, whimsical style to it that really reminded me of Dr. Seuss at times, which all in all made for a pleasant read. I will say that only the first half of this book pertains to bookshelves, bookworms, and the like, while the other half focuses much more on writing craft and the struggles of writing your own book, which is something I don’t relate to as much, so I lost a bit of interest toward the second half of the book. Overall though, a cute, fun little book to display on your bookshelf!
