funny lighthearted relaxing fast-paced

3.5/5 Stars. I will say, I don’t think I am the target audience for this book. This is more for writers than straight readers. It is very witty and academic and I think a lot of what is in here would go over a lot of people’s heads as I’m sure a fair bit went over my head. I did really enjoy this, and I LOVED the art style in this book. If you are a writer or an aspiring writer who especially loves classic literature and poetry, then this book is for you.

The first illustrations were so interesting. However, I felt that further forward it was more of the same.

Perhaps a better way to read this would be to read one a day.
reflective medium-paced

Just not what I was expecting.

A sweet collection of comics celebrating reading, books, poetry, and the writer’s life. I’ve read many of these on the last page of the NYT book review. This book brought a smile to my face.

A book about reading books/ writing books and that too a graphic novel. What else could I wish for?

I had heard great things about grant and his work. Experiencing this book has made me a fan.

So relatable and so apt! Truly loved it.

Some lovely illustrated thoughts about books, reading and writing.

Lovely artwork. I think it was a little repetitive at times but overall it was quite charming and beautiful.

DID NOT FINISH: 30%

Very pretentious.
Some comics felt very snobbish, and others require the reader to have background knowledge.
I was expecting something with more humor because of the title but it was not the case.
The illustrations are just okay and I was bored most of the time.
Even if it´s a short book I felt it was not worth it.

It's a shame they promoted it as "a book for readers", I think most of the comics of the part that I read would land better with writers.
