I appreciate this book more than like it. There are a few gems scattered throughout (see below), but most of it didn’t engage me or tickle my funny bone. My ultimate reaction was, “Eh, it’s nice. It’s all right.” Inoffensive, I suppose. That indifference is why the two stars.

Some of these are cute and I like the simple art style. But in these kinds of books, the only worse thing than readers who think buying and hoarding books is quirky and cute are authors whining about how hard writing is. And the only thing worse than that is self-absorbed comic artists.
