This is the second in what I hope to be a long running series. The characters are interesting, each with their own foibles and skills. They are good people to know. The plotting is superb, you'll stay engaged throughout the entire story. Definitely a good read.

I normally like Pearson, but this one didn't do anything for me. The style was quite different from his other books -- more choppy with clipped sentences and "quick cuts" from one scene to another. It felt more like an old-fashioned "hardboiled" detective story, but not as satisfying. Probably won't go back and read the first one unless I'm desperate.
