This book has been on my list for far too long and I'm not sure why I waited because it's a great narrative to tear through. (Not unlike the Zeds tearing through their meal, you might even say?) The historical / personal "accounts" of individuals is exceptionally well done. Brooks has captured a lot of the anguish and anger and clearly done a lot of research into PTSD and other trauma-based illnesses. Brooks brings together genres which are not usually mixed with great impact.

Completeley different from the movie, but the movie is still pretty good. Defenitely a page turner. The style is excellent and gets you into this reporter detective mood in a post apocalyptic world!

Extremely creative and absolutely terrifying at parts, but some sections were a little too filled with military jargon. I wish the movie sounded more like the book because it would be awesome.
