Loved this book, as a huge fan of Zombies I felt it was a gripping tale that managed to keep you interested. First glance had me a little worried as it has tales from lots of different characters brought into one story but it did it fantastically, it all went together smoothly.Suppose to be a sequel to his first book, A survival guide, but can be read alone and takes a more serious tone, but I personally it makes the book even better. it really makes you believe in the story, that everything in it really happened.

And of course lots of Zombies! I really feel the movie didn't do any justice to the book, I was excited when they said they were making the book into a movie but was a little disappointed. The book is so much better!

Forgettable.
Also like 90% (or more) of the interviewed people are men.
I can only remember the two women: one who is delirious and another whose purpose is to breed.

I was Looking forward to  reading an oral  history on the fight against zombies but the different perspectives were very like army military based and so there was a lot of gunspeak that was very tedious at times and unfortunate because it would get in the way of the action scenes rhythm,  which were fine if there wasn’t gun speak and army jargon.
It also very interesting that he included a perspective from an Israeli soldier who was kind of insinuating was kinda insinuating that the state of “Israel” was a like Haven against the zombies and they were being successful, it was like a safe zone which had a weird paradise promise land comparison. And then had a POV from a Palestinian right after this perspective and kinda insinuating that the wall would “solve the conflict”.
also I felt like that was a bit of anti-China sentiment like yeah it was interesting.
Very classic American perspective from the author and imperialist, gun heavy vibes. Still pointing out the heavy decisions that people and governments had to make in the fight against zombies
The world building was interesting it was cool he went into the different specifics and like worst case scenarios of zombies and was interesting to see how humanity on a global scale who would deal with that. Sometimes the POV structure came off very exposition heavy

Re:edit
Also the way he writes from woman’s perspective is very lacking and shallow, considering he has multiple different POVs

This was an absolutely incredible book! I love the way it was written - quick flash fiction (is that the right term?) from completely different and mostly unrelated people, but all about the same topics and events. It's awesome and I had difficulty putting it down when I needed to go to work or drive. :-D
