This was written in 1907 and I suppose at that time, it may have lived up to the hype. It's supposedly one of the most psychologically scary books to have ever been written. I don't think so.

I read this because I really loved “The Hollow Places” by T. Kingfisher. I can respect this as being the source of her inspiration and being a classic, however I enjoyed Kingfisher’s book way more and just was very bored for a large portion of this
