The Willows is really beautifully written. The imagery is still with me and I felt their genuine fear (perhaps a fear of willows now??) . The otter symbolism and wrap around was so creepy too.

The prose was beautiful, captivating, and so wonderfully descriptive of certain human emotions that I was in awe that it reads so well 100 years later.
I was captivated from the beginning by his way with words and knew quite quickly this would be a favorite.
