3.5 stars!
this was so cute<3 i really love the idea (i’d never read a radio-romance before??) and the whole coworkers to enemies to fake exes to cohosts to lovers trope really did me in. there were some minor things i wasn’t a fan of: like the age gap being brought up over and over made it feel really weird sometimes. but it was fun nonetheless, and i’m so glad this pretty pretty book was my first feb 2021 read!<3

This is cute and clever and easy to follow. However, I think the diversity is a bit forced, making it feel inauthentic. And while Shay is concerned her voice isn't "radio ready" she should be more concerned about how insufferable her personality is at times. For someone who likes to make self deprecating jokes about her age she sure doesn't actually act like her age. But maybe it's just that I wouldn't be friends with her if she were to be a real life person? Anyway it's cute and worth the read

This book was ok! I thought the writing style was fun, and it had a cute premise, but overall the story had no umph for me. It was extremely predictable and the characters were a bit meh.

I listened to this on audiobook and it was good. Very sweet and quick which was exactly what I was looking for. The banter between the two MCs was cute but it didn't fully pass my escape test. I had a hard time with some of the choices the characters made. Not necessarily the actual choice (other than a workplace sending employees to a secluded island with only one bed), but whether those choices matched up with the characterization set up for Dominic and Shay.

The spicy sections were nice and didn't feel cringe-y. Solomon and I have very similar opinions on forearms it seems lol but there were some parts of the book that felt extraneous (the dog? cute, but was it necessary?)
