”Therefore every form of philosophy, every form of theo- logical concept,is merely an escape from the actual reality of what is.”

This book will startle, shock, accost and leave you terribly frustrated, but somehow - in a way only JK can do - will also allow for some profound insights to surface. JK shares no methods, protocols, belief systems or ways to pierce the veil of illusion. In fact, he emphatically states that by trying to see past the illusion of the "self" ....we are bound to never achieve transcendence. Striving itself is the problem!

What then, are we to do? Toil away in the human predicament? I guess so. However, in the way an open window will - on occasion - allow a breeze to flow in, by seeking to understand the nature of the self (and what it is NOT...thoughts, ideas, concepts, etc.) we can open the window of the self...and allow whatever deeper understanding is available about our true nature to come through if/when it does.

Have read few spiritual books before but this one was different. Different in terms of ideas and complex in terms of relating the ideas. It got super confusing, draining mentally and boring throughout the read. Will prolly read it again after sometime and get better insight.

I'm going to revisit this one in the next month or so once I've sat with it for a minute.

Krishnamurti is very Zen.

A brilliant book read in the Summer of 22.
Reminded me of my childhood experiments conducted with thoughts, mind and consciousness.

That's right. What's in the book? I have interpreted with my own conditioning. You'll will interpret it according to your background and your conditioning. That's the point of book that we create an idea after experiencing something or seeing something or analyzing something. That very idea is old. Our thaughts are old. You will have to find out yourself what this book means to you.
