THE BOYS' CLUB is tagged a bit as a law thriller, but it's quite underwhelming if that's the case. Alex is a first year associate at a high profile law firm in NYC. She is has a long-term boyfriend who is floundering a bit in his career and she starts up planning on real estate law. Most of the tracks at the firm will allow some sort of work/life balance, except for M&A. Within a short time, Alex quickly dismisses real estate and starts working in M&A and impressing the primarily hot shot male department. Her personality that was set up in the first bit of the book does a 180. She looks down on non-M&Aers and really is pretty insufferable. The vast majority of the book is massive amounts of drinking, coke, and adultery. Yes, one of their clients is doing something shady, but that doesn't ramp up until the very end of the book and it's all very expected and disappointing.
Graphic: Sexual assault and Drug use
Moderate: Suicidal thoughts

This book is fact paced and gives the inside scoop into BigLaw, something I had no idea about. This story follows Alex, a first year female associate at one of the biggest law firms in New York City, as she ventures into her first job after law school. She gets the inside scoop of how demanding and competitive her job, while learning what areas of law she does and does not want to focus on. This book is broken up into 5 parts and is so hard to put down!
Moderate: Rape and Misogyny
Minor: Sexual violence, Toxic relationship, Suicidal thoughts, Sexism, Racism, and Physical abuse
