3.45 AVERAGE

Loved this book! The characters were so real. I cried and laughed a few times!

I probably would have given it 4 stars if I hadn't just finished Don't Say A Word, which was SO good! Although this book had a happy ending, it started off rather dismal. I prefer books that start out more hopeful, but I did enjoy the book.

So, I’m definitely conflicted on my rating. I think a 3.5. I love the angst of unrequited love, the push and the pull. This books definitely had all of that, I just wish the H wasn’t so torn for so long. It might have helped if it wasn’t the h’s sister. I still did like it at the end though!

So I have 3 days left until the spring semester begins, so I'm out here reading as many books as I can since you will probably not see me here for the next 5 months. This book was one of them. Why did I read this? Three reasons!

A Hero loves the OW who's the sister story : I know this is so weird irl but there's something about sisters fighting each other over everything including men that has me like *chefs kiss* Maybe it's because I've never had a sister nor have I ever felt strongly enough for anyone to even consider fighting for them, but this is absolutely fascinating.

Small town vibes : I'm a city girl at heart but train rides across the country and stays in small towns have made me absolutely fall in love with a quieter life. This book featured a small town girl who went to the big city for 9 years returning home. I thought I'd find her relatable but SPOILER ALERT I absolutely despised her

A marriage in ruin : this is what I was promised and this is what the book delivered.

Okay so why the 2 stars?

Because I'm being generous.

Because I hated every character: Tessa (

3.5 stars- this is a love triangle angsty romance between the H and two sisters. I really felt for all three characters but it was pretty obvious who the H would pick from the beginning.

DID NOT FINISH

I had to give up on this one. It was progressing at a snails pace. All I was getting was...I'm divorcing my husband because I think he still loves my sister...I don't want a divorce, but do I still have feelings for the sister...I think I may still love my sister's husband. Put those 3 things on constant repeat and that's the book.

This is one of those classic romances where you're not sure who you're rooting for. I was as torn as the characters on what to think. Get yourself a box of tissues and settle in. Perfect accompaniment to a blanket and a cup of tea.

Not sure that this really rates a three star, but it is definitely more than a two. I found the heroine to be selfish, insecure and whiny. Really? You have a great life - a fantastic husband, a gorgeous daughter, a great career and a loving support system. So what if your husband was in love with someone BEFORE you were married! Yah, you were sneaky in the way you landed him, but he is still with you!
I liked the other characters, and in the end was happy with the way things turned out.

I enjoyed this angsty read! I felt for Alli, she spent her life pining for her husband, Sam who took her for granted because he fancied himself still in love with her sister, Tessa.

Their grandmother, Phoebe has a stroke and Tessa, a famous model comes back to town with her photographer in tow. Sam and Tessa have a chance to rekindle their romance because Alli has finally given up. She realizes she has to set Sam free.

I enjoyed this book much more than I thought I would. I needed an angst fix and this book had it in spades! Although Tessa was initially the wronged one, she behaved abominably in the novel. I didn’t feel bad for her!

I struggled a bit through this book because I found that I didn't really like any of the characters that much because their continuing choices were so frustrating.
