I listened to this book on audio and found the reverse timeline somewhat confusing. This book was fair, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as other books I’ve listened to by this author. The end wrapped up too quickly and lacked suspense building events in the middle to keep me interested.

I couldn't connect with the character. I hated the ending. I didn't like the lying. It didn't hold my interest as much as a thriller should.

Couldn't put it down...finished it in under 48 hours. The ending left me a little "meh," but it was good nonetheless.

This wasn’t my favourite book by her (Such a Quiet Place was) but the pacing reminded me of The Last to Vanish. The first half did a lot of background and character building, which dragged on at times and I kept wondering when it would be relevant info. The time jumping / the reverse timeline was confusing at first and made it hard to read. I had to keep flipping back to make sure I was understanding what was happening to form the story timeline in my head.

The last 1/3 of the book is where everything came together and I was excited to keep reading to figure out the ending. I think I expected some wild plot twist? I’m unsure what I expected but what happened felt ordinary, which is bothering my for some reason

It took awhile for me to get into this book, but the ending pulled me in and took turns I wasn't expecting.

Nic returns home to help with her father who is slowing losing his memory, but it doesn't stop him from revealing some cryptic secret messages. This leads Nic to find out what happened to her friend who went missing so long ago.

With a new girl going missing and her ex boyfriend a prime suspect she wants to unlock the truth and clear her family and her ex boyfriend.

I received a free copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I read this book on NetGalley and really enjoyed this book! It is a twist on a standard mystery - it is told from day 15 to day 1. This book could have been a total shitshow, but Miranda pulled it off well. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to share information backwards in a mystery, and still make the story cohesive. She did a great job.

I was vey into the book by about the halfway point. I may have been bored with another style of book, but since it's a mystery, I was just dying for more information.

I spent most of the book guessing who the villain was - my guess was constantly changing, which is a cool part of a mystery. I also really liked that the final answer made sense, and was acceptable in regard to the entire story.

I didn't connect with the main character very much, but I'm not sure that I was supposed to. She's not very likable, but I think that's okay.

A lot of the book focuses on looking at broken girls. I connected with this aspect of the book, and it reminded me of the parts I liked of Emma Cline's The Girls. The narrator's reflections reminded me of myself (mainly when I was younger) and friends I had (when I was younger).

I would like to give a bit of a trigger warning with abusive men. The main character just kind of sees it as a part of life, and I wish that she would have expected better for herself and those around her.

I'm happy with how everything wrapped up in the end and I hope y'all enjoy the book!

I like the play with time in this novel. I like that we go backwards in time. I like the setting, I like the general idea.
What it lacks is ... fluidity. While the play with time is a great idea and makes this special, it also makes it less fluid. A lot of times I felt like I was stopped in my reading flow as we jumped a day back. I know it is the premise and it is the basic idea and that is great - but the way it was done lacked a bit. It could've been executed a bit nicer - a bit less abrupt.
The conclusion was okay. Nothing out of the blue and special.
I also cannot seem to stop making connections to pretty little liars and how they described Allie as a Character and how those missing Girls Corrine and Annaliese are described here. Very stereo typical.

This is told in reverse. I think it would have been better for me as a e-book so I could go back and look at certain pieces. But otherwise this was ok.
