I both enjoyed and didn’t enjoy this book.
It’s incredibly interesting with insights into the life experienced at the concentration camps.
But I also found it almost too fast paced, as though important parts of history were mentioned and then quickly skipped over. Perhaps because the horrors are just that, too horrific to dwell on for longer than the few sentences we are given.
I loved that the book itself is basically a piece of history written from real life interviews with the main character.
Am important read that we should probably all acknowledge.
Satisfactory ending? Yes.

7/10. Not my typical kind of book, but very well-written and very compelling story. Would recommend.

I've been wanting to read this book for so long, and I was a little bit disapointed. It comes from the main character : it was hard for me to get attached to him (mainly because of the way he talks about women that I found very patriarcal).
Also I found the writting very simple (it rarely bothers me when I read, but here it did).
This book is not too long to read. Some parts of it are hard as it depicts the life on a concentration camp, but the main focus is on the love story, which, for me, make it easier to read compared to other books with the same subject.
