Heathcliff makes Rochester look like a saint
As a lover of 19th century English literature, I have struggled in vain to appreciate this story. I am sorry to say that my efforts and many hours of sacrifice were all for naught. My second read-through was as terrible as the first (which was more than 15 years ago!).
I have given it 2 stars because I liked the voices in this audio version, but I absolutely and definitively hate this story.
It has no likeable characters (I even hated the narrators for their conduct) and no redeemable qualities whatsoever! I shall henceforth endeavor to strike its monotonous and depressing plot from my memory.
