I suppose I went into the novella expecting more of a story when I should have realized that something this short wouldn't delve too deeply into a plot.
Ultimately, Duchovny reflects (and rambles) on a range of ideas via his middle-aged character who is struggling mentally with the Pandemic. His isolation exacerbates his fraught relationship with his adult daughter.
I'm probably not the audience for this book. It definitely gives literature vibes, is esoteric, and focuses on themes that simply don't apply to me as a young woman (who incidentally has chosen to not have a relationship with her father).

Graphic: Suicide, Death, Death of parent, Stalking, and Pandemic/Epidemic
Moderate: Sexual harassment
