It was an entertaining read and full of action, but I don't think the character relationships were developed that deeply in this book, even if it was a slow-burn. I liked that the FMC Shira managed to keep her sassy independence after 8+ years of being both a slave and a prisoner and the concept of finding her fated mates yet struggling to try and stay independent to achieve her own goals amidst their stereotyped expectations and protectiveness. I usually hate the insta-love trope with fated mates, and I was glad to see some rebellion from Shira.
Most of my issues were with the plot, especially with the abrupt somewhat easy achievement of her revenge, but I look forward to the next book and seeing how the harem relationships develop.
This also appears to be a spin-off series from the author's first series, Empath Found - we see mentions of Fi and her harem that I thought had not been explained too well, but it made sense that there was an accompanying series to go more into depth. I was not aware as this is my first book by the author.

This is a unique romance with shifters and fae. It has a compelling storyline. I love how strong Shira is even if herself or anyone around her doesn't realizes it. It has fantastic characterization, and world building. I am very excited for the second book especially with that ending!

Decent read. I had several questions that eventually got answered.
The men were infuriating and I liked that the FMC admitted she was naive in some aspects.
Felt too much like a spin off rather than it’s own stand alone. The blurb also doesn’t recommend that you read a previous series, which actually feels necessary.
