Well. that was something. Did I like it, ya. Overall the story was lacking for me but I like the charters. I do wish there was a little more spice but hay that ok. I will say that I went into this story thinking it was going to be spicy and it was not so if you're like me, I'm letting you know beforehand that the spice was lacking. Again the charters I really like and there is a second book that I will be 100% be reading. You may ask yourself why the answer is because I want to know what happens. Till next time!

Would be 4.5 stars but has a horrible cliffhanger. Spice is 1/5 and that’s generous. Second book is a 2/5 a couple vanilla scenes that are moderately written. Lots of tension. Good world build and lots of feminism. I like the side characters. I wish this book would have been split up so we could get to know the characters more. Please read the TW.

What a read! Ever since I read Gilded Mess I have been on a Colette Rhodes book binge. This book features Shira, a golden dragon who has been enslaved for the last 12 years of her life. Once she is rescued by her mates, we are then introduced to the rest of her flight: Ezra (the alpha), Levi (the earth dragon), Oren (the water dragon), Hiram (the air dragon), and Seff (the fire dragon). Unbeknownst to Shira, these men have spent the last 6 months dreaming of rescuing her and making their nest a home. However, in the 12 years that Shira has been captive, she has been planning a way to enact revenge on those that killed her family and held her hostage. The conflict of interest from both our FMC and her harem was intense, and I loved that Shira stuck to her guns and refused to back down on her goals. However, that isn’t to say the Shira is absolved of any wrongdoing, because there were definitely a few parts in the book that had me rolling my eyes and voicing out loud “Really, Shira?” I was also frustrated that the latter half of the book focuses very heavily on Shira and not so much the men. Obviously this is because Shira is out trying to kill the dragons who harmed her, but I do wish that we had gotten to see some of the men more, perhaps if they had found her sooner we could have seen that.
Overall this book is very well written and I can’t wait to read the next book!
